It’s true what they say; if you put it out into the universe, the universe will respond! As a photographer, I’m always searching for epic collections to photograph, first and foremost because I love the people I meet throughout my journey - listening to their stories and their lifelong pursuit of rare items let’s me live their thrill vicariously .. sadly, these collections remain locked up & hidden away in basements, boxes or displays which rarely get the public adoration they deserve .. and that’s why I do what I do - I love sharing these unique collections with the world because it transmits that same thrill to countless people who would otherwise never be able to appreciate these collections in person. And on that note, I’ve been wanting to create an alcohol themed piece for my foodscape collection, but it needed to be classy & unique - which was, not surprisingly, very difficult to find. I’ve been searching for months and the last thing I wanted to do was shoot something generic in a bar or restaurant that you could find on shutter stock. As fate would have it however, I happened to drop by @galerie_beauchamp prior to the holidays during an event to say hello, unannounced, which is where I had the good fortune to meet @andreproulx2. Andre has managed to procure some of the rarest bottles of @grandmarnierusa in Canada. Some of these bottles in fact were made for TV only, while some were never even sold to the public. These images have so much history embedded in their pixels and it totally fascinates me.
